Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2023 – Week 38

U.S. fractional and charter operators saw a 4% gain from Week 37, putting this week’s numbers just 2% down from the record levels of last year.

Global private jet flight activity (73,396 segments) went up 1% in Week 38 from the previous week.

Flights for the week ended Sept. 24, 2023, were 4% below 2022 for the same period.

Over the trailing four weeks (283,590), volume was 3% below 2022 levels.

In the U.S., flights (51,420) increased 3% week-to-week, 5% below last year.

Florida (4,604 flights) and Texas (5,258 flights) each saw a 7% bump from last week.

In Europe, flights (13,117 segments) were down 1% from the previous week, putting them 7% below 2022.

Charter and fractional operators saw a 2% week-to-week gain with 37,087 segments worldwide, 2% down from 2022.

The U.S. fractional and charter flying (25,892) saw a 4% gain from Week 37, putting Week 38 numbers just 2% down from the record levels of last year. 

Over the trailing four weeks, the U.S. (98,465 flights) was just 2% down compared to the same period in 2022.

Even in Europe, the 9,434 segments, which were 3% down week-to-week, were down just 2% compared to 2022.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “The U.S. bizjet market is holding up and seems to reflect the steadier economic outlook for the U.S. economy in Q3.”

According to the soon-to-be-released 2023/24 Jet Card Report by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 76.6% of respondents are Extremely/Very Confident about their personal financial outlook, with 19.8% saying they are Somewhat Confident.

Only 3.4% were No So Confident or Not At All Confident.
