Private jet flight activity didn’t see any immediate impact after the U.S. presidential election, according to the latest WingX tracking data.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (70,269 segments) saw a 1% week-to-week increase, flat with Week 45 in 2023, up 2% year-over-year with 291,811 segments.
So, did politics provide an immediate impact on private jet usage?
WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “With just a few days since the U.S. election, the effect on business jet utilization is not obvious. Activity calmed following several weeks when there were more flights than last year. In Europe, Germany’s political and economic strife is reflected in substantial cutbacks in bizav demand. Destabilization and conflict in the Middle East have equally seen a big step back in flight activity.”
U.S. private jet flight activity (49,941 segments) was up 1% sequentially and 1% year-over-year.
For the four weeks that ended Nov. 10, there were 207,399 U.S. private jet departures, a 4% gain compared to 2023.
Texas (5,545 departures) was the only U.S. big four state with a year-over-year increase, up 4%.
European flights (8,484) saw a 1% year-over-year gain, a 1% sequential increase, and a 3% increase for the trailing four weeks compared to last year.
Germany (1,122) saw a 12% dip for the week compared to last year. Over the past four weeks, there were 4,552 flights, a 5% drop.
The Middle East and Africa were down double-digits both sequentially and year-over-year.
