Guests arriving for the Ryder Cup being held this week will be exposed to Airshare at onsite and at the airport.
Airshare’s 25th anniversary, celebrated last week in Kansas City, also marks its debut at the Ryder Cup, perhaps a fitting way for the formerly regional provider to demonstrate that it is now a national player.
Last year, it ranked as the 8th-largest private jet company in the U.S. based on charter and fractional flight hours.
CEO John Owen says, “Reaching our 25th anniversary is a testament to the hard work of our employees, the loyalty of our customers, and the strength of our vision for private aviation.”
Owen adds, “From our founding in Wichita to becoming a nationwide operator across all of our services, we’ve remained focused on delivering exceptional experiences when flying with us.”
The former CFO moved into the corner office in 2018.
He noted, “While today we celebrate our previous accomplishments, we’re even more excited about what’s ahead and grateful to all who have been part of our journey.”
Since Owen took the helm, the company has rebranded from Executive Airshare.
It has also been trading up, exiting King Air and Phenom 100 programs.
The fractional and jet card fleet has now transitioned into its current Phenom 300 and Challenger 3500.
After incrementally expanding in the Midwest, it then added Florida in early 2023.
The acquisition of aircraft management from Wheels Up at the end of 2023 has resulted in its fleet expanding to over 100 aircraft.
Those moves culminated in the growth of its program nationally last September.
Earlier this year, it formed an extensive golf partnership with the PGA, which will be front and center at this weekend’s Ryder Cup.
Chief Marketing Officer Andy Tretiak says the company is extending what he describes as “VVIP hospitality” this weekend.
Guests are staying in Manhattan.
However, due to restrictions imposed by the U.N. General Assembly, crowds from Fashion Week, and the usual gridlock, Airshare is operating daily flights with one of its Challenger 3500s from Teterboro Airport, located just across the river in New Jersey, to Republic Airport in Farmingdale.
Bethpage State Park Golf Course is less than five miles from the field.
Guests are being chauffeured by a black car.
Its event partnership also means access to a wide range of on-site hospitality.
One element that has stayed the same is its day-based access formula, which rewards folks who make longer flights or take multiple flights on the same day.
